Nuro is a personal travel-list workspace. You add places, attach cover and gallery images, keep a prep checklist, mark a rough planning window, then stamp a short written review and, if you choose, a spoken field note. This notice explains how those materials are handled, which device permissions may be requested, and where Apple platform services can be involved. It is written for the functions Nuro actually provides. It does not describe booking engines, public feeds, maps, or a cloud travel journal, because those are not part of the product.
The destination file that lives on your device
When you create or edit a place, Nuro stores a local ledger entry. Typical fields include the place name, a region label you type, a one-line reason for listing it, a terrain category such as beach, mountain, city, forest, or culture, a list status of Want to go, Planning, or Checked in, a priority you assign, a suggested stay length, a budget band note, caution text, prep checklist lines and their done state, an optional planning-window note, a written check-in review, favorite marking, and timestamps for creation and last change.
Cover frames, gallery stills, and check-in photographs you attach are copied into Nuro storage on the device. Spoken field reviews are saved as local audio files linked to the place. A small set of sample destinations may appear as recommended catalog cards so the stacked home deck is not empty on first launch. Those samples are product content, not records of your trips, until you treat them as your own list items.
Nuro also keeps limited operational flags on the device, such as whether the welcome screen has already been shown and version markers used to refresh sample catalog copy. List statistics shown in Settings, including how many places you keep and how many are checked in, are calculated from the same local ledger.
Why the ledger exists at all
Place text exists so you can browse stacked cards, filter by status or terrain, open a dossier, and return to a checklist before you travel. Images exist so each card and detail screen can show the destination you actually care about. Voice notes exist only as an optional companion to a checked-in stamp. Operational flags exist so the app can open to the main deck after first use and keep sample catalog text consistent after an update.
None of this processing is used to build a public traveler profile. Nuro does not require you to identify yourself by name, email, or password in order to keep a list.
Camera, Photos library, and microphone gates
Nuro asks for Camera access when you capture a fresh cover or an on-site check-in still. It asks for Photos access when you pick an existing image for a cover, a gallery strip, or a stamp, and again when you export a list-summary image into Photos. It asks for Microphone access only if you record a spoken field review after checking in.
You may refuse any of these prompts. Refusing Camera means you cannot shoot in-app stills, but typed list entries can still be kept. Refusing Photos means you cannot import library images or save an exported summary card. Refusing the microphone means you can still write a text review. If a permission was previously denied, iOS Settings is the place to restore it. Nuro does not continuously listen or photograph in the background.
Apple tracking permission on first open
On compatible iOS versions, Nuro may present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before the main deck appears. If you allow tracking, Apple may make a device advertising identifier available to the app environment for measuring how stacked cards, prep checklists, and check-in tools are used, and for related reliability work. If you deny tracking, Nuro continues to function as a local list. Place names, personal notes, photos, and voice files are not offered for sale as a travel dossier.
Allowing or denying that prompt does not create an account. You can later change the tracking setting in iOS for this app.
What remains local and what may travel off the device
The destination ledger, attached images, and spoken notes are written under the app's sandbox on your iPhone. Nuro does not operate a Nuro-branded cloud sync of your list. If you delete a place, associated image and audio files for that place are intended to be removed with it, subject to ordinary file-system limits.
Material can leave the device when you take an action that uses an Apple or device channel, including saving a summary image to Photos, or when the operating system, App Store infrastructure, or a future app update uses network delivery that Apple controls. Diagnostic information that iOS may generate around crashes or performance can also be processed under Apple's own rules if you have enabled such sharing at the system level. Nuro does not run a separate social backend or map SDK that would upload your itinerary.
Platform operators and other processors
Apple provides the operating system, permission dialogs, App Store distribution, and related device services. When you open this Privacy Statement or the Terms and Conditions from Settings, Nuro may present the page in an in-app browser component supplied by the system, which then loads the hosted document over the network. Those sessions are subject to Apple's browser and network handling, and to the host of the page you requested.
We do not list unrelated advertising networks, analytics suites, or social logins here because Nuro does not integrate those products as part of the destination-list workflow. If a later version adds a distinct third-party module that processes personal information, this notice will be updated to name the role it plays.
How long destination materials stay
Records remain for as long as you keep them in the app and the app remains installed, unless you delete a place or clear app data through iOS. Uninstalling Nuro typically removes the sandbox copy of the ledger and media. Copies you exported to Photos remain under your Photos library until you delete them there. We do not operate a remote archive of your list that we could wipe on request after uninstall, because that archive is not part of the current product.
Choices available without a user profile
You may edit or delete places, images, checklist lines, reviews, and voice notes inside Nuro. You may leave Camera, Photos, or Microphone unused. You may respond to Apple's tracking prompt and later revise that choice in system Settings. Because there is no mandatory account, there is no separate Nuro web portal for downloading a cloud dossier. The practical way to stop processing is to remove content in the app or remove the app from the device.
Children and shared family phones
Nuro is a general-audience planning tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13 to operate a Nuro account, because Nuro does not run such accounts. A parent or guardian who finds that a child has stored photos, notes, or voice files in the app should delete those items or uninstall the app. If you believe we have received information from a child in a context we control outside the on-device ledger, write to the desk mail above so we can review what, if anything, is within our reach.
Practical safeguards, stated without theater
On-device storage relies on the protections of iOS sandboxing, device lock, and any encryption Apple applies to the hardware. We aim to limit permission use to the task you started, and to avoid claiming a level of safety that no consumer app can guarantee. Residual risks remain: a lost unlocked phone, a backup you make to another device, screenshots, or a compromised operating system can expose list contents. Treat destination notes that mention documents, reservations, or household details with the same care you would give any local file.
United States law and later editions of this notice
This notice is intended to be read under the laws of the United States, together with any privacy rules that apply to you because of where you live. Features may vary by operating-system version. If we change how Nuro handles destination materials, permissions, or platform services in a way that this notice no longer describes, we will publish a revised text. Continued use after a revision means the then-current notice applies to later use, except where applicable law requires a different approach.
Reaching the Nuro desk
Questions about this notice, permission wording, or how the local ledger is described should be sent to cairn.folio@nurotrailworks.com. Please use that same address rather than informal in-app comment fields, which Nuro does not provide. We will respond within a reasonable period and may ask you for device type or app version if that is needed to explain a behavior.
